Have you done the following?

Dear Pupils,

I hope you are having a wonderful March holiday.  Just would like to remind you the following:

1.  Revise! Revise! Revise!

As I have mentioned, this is the perfect time for you to revise on all the topics you have learnt in Term 1, especially those that you are weaker in.  It will serve as a good revision for your SA1 examination.

(where perfect and good are _______________?)

2.  Learn Your Times Tables

I have gone through 6 and 7 multiplication tables with you.  Please fill in 8 and 9 in the worksheet correctly and revise for them too.  I will be testing all of you randomly when I see you in Term 2.

3.  Complete Your Holiday Homework

Do ensure that you have completed your MConline EL homework and Math CA paper by the 25th March 2013.  Math CA paper will be collected on the first day of Term 2.

4.  Learn Your Spelling

Do not forget to revise the entire spelling sheet as a Spelling Test will be conducted in the week that you return.  An unseen dictation may also be tested.

5.  Rainbow Day

Remember the lyrics to the song. (Scroll down to the previous post for more information)

6.  Things To Bring on 25th March 2013:

  1. EL files  (composition and worksheet)
  2. Math File
  3. LC books
  4. Spelling book (if you have not already submitted)
  5. Math WB 3A Part 2 (if you have not already submitted)

7.  Play time

Play time is important but so is revision.  Strike a balance between your play time and revision/study time.

Remember, your greatest resource is your time(Brian Tracy). Spend it well and it will serve you well.

Have an enriching March holiday!

Rainbow Day

Dear Pupils,

Our class Rainbow Day is coming up real soon in Term 2.  We will be performing a song-cum-dance on the theme, International Friendship Day.  To better prepare all of us, I would like you to remember the lyrics to the song, you've got a friend in me,during your March holidays.  When we come back in Term 2, we will fine tune our singing, as a classand come up with some fun dance moves.  I'm sure we'll put up a great show as a class!

STEP in Motion

Dear Pupils,

Here are some pictures of you during one of our STEP sessions.  STEP in motion...

I'm sure we all had great fun (where great describes the fun we had and therefore it becomes an adjective) during our STEP sessions!

Before I leave, I would like to share with you the following quote,

The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don't want (more fruits and vegetables), drink what you don't like (lots and lots of plain water), and do what you rather not (exercise regularly). ~Mark Twain

Have an awesome week ahead!

Upcoming EL Spelling...

Dear Pupils and Parents,

As I have mentioned to the pupils, (in class today) week 4 (4th Feb 2013) spelling list is unlike its preceding weeks.  It is more of 'spelling phrases' versus the traditional 'spelling words'.   It is actually adapting its style from the note-taking portion of the Listening Comprehension practice.  This is also a very good practice for our children for the upcoming Listening Comprehension test (more information on that coming your way.)

My dear pupils, please do take some time over the next few days to practice and be prepared for your Monday Spelling Test!  With practice, We Will Do Well!

As week 4 draws to an end, I will be returning the pupils most of their work to revise at home (and receive Parent's Signature) and to prepare themselves for week 5 and 6.

Before I leave, I would like to share with you the following quote,

Put your heart, mind, intellect and soul even to your smallest acts.  This is the secret of success.  ~Swami Sivananda

Have an awsome week ahead!

Class of 2013

Dear Pupils and Parents,

Once again, I would like to warmly welcome you to our new 3G family!  The first few weeks of Term 1 has kept us all rather busy and zoomed past in the blink of an eye.

Here are some things that we have done:

Admin Matters:
  1. Established our Class Rules and Expectations
  2. Classroom decoration
  3. Involved in Buddy Leader Programme (3 days)
  4. Assigned places and group colours
Curriculum:
  1. Read our first big book- A Kitten For A King
  2. Completed Math Topic 1- Numbers to 10 000
  3. Learnt how to read and locate places on maps using grid lines.
As you can see, it has been an eventful period and I'm proud of our 3G pupils.

Parents who came down to help with classroom decoration, I cannot thank you enough for your help.  It was indeed heartwarming to see many of you and my sincere thanks for every effort you made.  I would also like to thank my pupils who came down and I hope you had a great time decorating your own classroom.  As the year unfolds and progresses, we will slowly build on our classroom deco and make it as lively as it can be!  I will definitely keep you updated on these matters.

I am also very proud of my 3G pupils as they have done a fine job in buddying and coaching their P1 buddies.  Good Job Children!

As soon as we complete a topic, I will keep you updated via blog and handbook so that you will be informed of the pace of the class.  This will also facilitate your revision with your child.  Every time I have completed a topic, I will send the related worksheets/work back home for your review.  I believe that by working together, our children will reap its benefits.

Before I leave, I would like to leave with a quote:

We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now. ~Martin Luther King Jr

Have an awesome week ahead!
